The Cessna Citation X aircraft for sale is a beautiful business jet aircraft. There are two Rolls-Royce turbofan engines that are attached to either side of the aircraft. This is an American made aircraft by the Cessna Company. The Citation brand of Cessna has six distinct families of aircraft. Born out of the other Citation models, the Citation X has significant differences. These differences include a new design of the wing, the engine, and a new glass cockpit. The engine is an improvement from the other Citation models and there is an upgraded avionics system installed. The Cessna Citation X for sale was created to improve the image of the Citation family as a whole. Initially, Citation models were known for being slow aircrafts. The first prototype of the Citation 10 was flown in 1993. The official certification of the aircraft was done in late 1995 which were considerably later than originally planned. The airframe and engine had to be improved to meet the standards of the FAA. The first Citation X that was delivered to its first customer was Arnold Palmer who is a well-known golfer and Cessna pilot. Once flown, the Citation 10 began a new reputation for being a speedy plane. Mr. Palmer set a speed record, with the Citation 10, by flying 473 knots (876 km/h) which was performed on a 5,000 km closed course. In 2000, the Citation X had upgrades performed on it which included an increase in thrust, a few hundred pound increase in its maximum take-off weight capacity and better Honeywell avionics. In 2010, the Cessna company performed a significant upgrade on the Citation X which involved a upgraded engine (AE3007C2) that had new fans, a newer flight display (Garmin G5000) that had 14 in. (three of them) screens and even a new heads-up display. The previously optional elliptical winglets, that were once an aftermarket option for the Citation X became a standard part of the aircraft. The cabin seating area was expanded by 39 centimeters. The newer models on the market have an improved SFC and more thrust which are lacking in the used Cessna Citation X models. The new models also have a payload increase of 97 kg. and a better cruising speed of 479 knots as opposed to the used Cessna Citation 10 for sale that have only a 460 knot speed ability. The new model has a range of 190 nm (352 km). The Cessna Citation X is an excellent aircraft to own. It can be used for several different purposes which gives its owner a wide range of uses out of it. There is much benefit in owning this aircraft.
