The Cessna 400 for sale is a great aircraft to own. It has one engine, fixed-gear, and a low-wing. The aircraft was built from composite materials by the Cessna Company. Originally, the Cessna 400 was manufactured by the Columbia Aircraft company and was called the Columbia 400.
The engine, of this fine aircraft, is a turbocharged Continental TSIO-550-C engine that puts out 310 horsepower (230 kW) at 2600 rpm. There is a Garmin G1000 glass cockpit that is featured on this aircraft. The engine of the Cessna 400 has the ability to operate at lean of peak. At 11,000 ft. (3355 m) the temperature is 50 Fahrenheit (28 Celsius) of its height turbine inlet temperature. The maximum cruising yield is 199 knots (369 km/h) and 24.7 US gallons an hour fuel flow.
The Cessna 400 aircraft for sale has an option for ice protection system which is known as E-Vade. This system consist of heat-conducting graphite foil panels which sit on the wing and the tail leading edges. These edges are heated by 70 volt 100 amp electric power that comes from an alternator. All of this is controlled by a single switch. There are optional speed brakes that are mounted on the top of the wings. To accomplish directional control, the Cessna uses differential braking, on the mainwheels, while taxing. It is not possible to steer the nosewheel directly.
At the beginning of 2011 the Cessna Company revealed many improvements that were made to the Cessna 400. These improvements included a glass cockpit panel that is based from the Garmin G2000. This features two fourteen inch wide (36 cm) high definition screens that have an infra-red grid which sits under its glass in which it accepts a touch command. There is a dual Attitude and Heading Reference System that was added, GFC700 autopilot, Garmin GTS800 traffic avoidance system, Garmin GTX 33ES transponder that has an ADS-B and also a Garmin Electronic Stability Protection System. This protection system protects the aircraft from various operations that can occur outside the exceptable flight envelope. The improved model has none of the original instruments, and instead, has an L-3 Trilogy that acts as a back-up. There is a built-in pulse oximeter, new paint scheme, and new interior.
The Cessna 400 has a maximum weight, for take-off, of 3600 lbs. (1633 kg) and the maximum weight for landing is 3420 lbs. (1551 kg). Typically, the aircrafts weight, when empty, is 2,575 lbs. (1168 kg), that is when it doesn’t have the icing equipment installed. When fully fueled, there is a window of 413 lbs. (187 kg) in which the crew and cargo can fill up.
The Cessna 400 is certified by the FAA under FAR 23. The EASA certification was added at the beginning of 2009. When looked up, the Cessna 400 can be found under the utility category of aircraft. It has a higher than average load factor for a Cessna being at 4.4 as opposed to the 3.8.
The Cessna 400, whether it’s a new or used Cessna 400 , is the speediest FAA-certified fixed gear aircraft on the market. It can reach speeds up to 235 knots at 25,000 feet (7,600 m). The Cessna 400 is an affordable aircraft whether it’s a used Cessna 400 for sale or new. The Cessna 400 aircraft sales on the available Flying Online network of websites.
