The Cessna 310 for sale is an airplane that comes from the Cessna Company. It seats six, has a low-wing, and there is a twin-engine on it. Since WWII, the Cessna 310 was the first twin-engine plane on the market. The first flight, of the Model 310, was made in 1953. Deliveries, to the aviation market, were made in late 1954. The model 303 had features that included an engine exhaust thrust augmenter tube and the ability to store fuel in the tip tanks. By 1964, there was a change in the engine exhaust which caused it to flow below the wing as opposed to the augmenter tube.
There was a letter added to the model number, of the Model 310, so it was able to be identified as different from the original design. There was an extra cabin that was added to the model 310. There were many modifications made to the model 310 which improved its performance. A noted aircraft engineer, by the name of Jack Riley, created two variants of the Model 310 which is the Riley Rocket 310 and the Riley Turbostream 310. The Riley Turbostream is considered the best performance in the piston light twin aircraft market. Mr. Riley replaced the usual Continental 310 hp (230 kW) engine with a Lycoming TIO540 350 hp (261 kW) engine. These engines came with three bladed Hartzell propellers that had a counter-rotating configuration that increased its performance and the safety of the single engine.
The Cessna 310 aircraft for sale has a length of 27 ft. (8.23 m) and a height of 10.6 ft. (3.20 m). The wingspan is 35 ft. (10.67 m). The aircraft weight, when empty, is 2,850 lb. (1,293 kg) and a gross weight of 4,600 lbs. (2,087 kg). There are two Continental O-470-B piston engines that put out 240 hp (180 kW) and are horizontally opposed to each other. The maximum speed of the Model 310 is 220 mph (350 km/h; 190kn) and the cruising speed is 205 mph (178 kn; 1,609 km). The service ceiling is 20,000 ft. (6,096 m) and the rate of climb is 1,700 ft. / min (8.6 m/s).
