Hartzell Propeller Inc announced January 9, 2012 that they have just received the Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) for a conversion kit for a two bladed prop on any normally aspirated Piper Seminoles. This kit will give the Piper Seminole increased performance, appearance, and decreased noise signatures.
Company officials said that the 74 inch diameter aluminum compact hubs with “blended” airfoil Scimitar shaped aluminum alloy blades can gain an additional climb rate performance of 80 fpm at 2,500 msl. Single engine climb performance is increased by 50 fpm as well as a 60 fpm balked landing climb with gear and flaps down.
Top Prop conversions are an easy and economical method to improve value, utility, and performance of an aircraft. Real world input from Kent State University was incorporated into the design and development throughout the process.
When searching for aircraft for sale, especially Piper Seminoles for sale, you’ll see an added value with the addition of this conversion. Other used airplanes for sale that may come equipped with the conversion kits include Beechcraft, Cessna, Commander, Diamond, Mooney, Piper, and Socata.
Hartzell Propellers are widely recognized and known throughout the industry as a leader in propeller design and manufacturing.
