Originally being introduced in 1970, the Baron for sale is an excellent aircraft to own. The Baron Aircraft for sale has club seating, double aft doors, and its gross weight is 5400-5500 lbs. The turbocharged Baron 58TC and the pressurized Baron 58P were introduced to the market in 1976. These models were powered by turbocharged Continental TIO-520s of 310-325 hp (230-240 kW). There was an increase in gross weight of over a 100 lbs. and was certified, under FAR23, with a brand new certificate. These new models are capable of cruising speeds of 200 knots (370 km/h) at an altitude of 8000 ft. (2400 m) and a cruising speed of 220 knots (410 km/h) at an altitude of 20000 ft. (6100 m). Typically, these aircraft were fitted with 190 US gallon (719 L) fuel tanks.
In 1984, a change in the panel/system layout on these different models of the Baron occurred. This included relocating throttle, gear, flap, propeller, and mixture controls the FAA industry-standard positions.
Even though the turbocharged 58TC/58P was discontinued back in 1985, the normal Baron was still in production, as of 2010. Currently, the production version is the G58. This model features glass cockpit, better passenger cabin and modifications to the airframe.
The Baron has a fully integrated Garmin autopilot GFC700 system and a GWX68TM weather radar. This aircraft has a primary flight display (PFD) that stands in place of the traditional cockpit instruments and gives the pilot a more expanded view of his situation by having a 10” LCD format installed. The Baron’s multi-functional display (MFD) brings together the engine instruments, terrain, navigation and autopilot controls onto a second 10” LCD screen. The Baron has a GFC700TM, which is a revolutionary three-axis automatic flight control system and director. There is an integrated Mode S transponder that has a (TIS) Traffic Information Service installed. The dual integrated radio units, that come with the Baron, provide the pilot a WAAS-capable & IFR approved GPS, VHF communication (with a 16-watt transceiver) and 8.33-kHz channel spacing. The G1000 MFD provides expanded situation awareness, for the pilot, by displaying Terrain and Obstacles via web-based databases.
